This 2 day workshop - all about snow - will explore a variety of techniques to achieve the texture, colors, and rendering of snow in both landscapes and close-up subject matter. The magic of leaving white paper will be emphasized!

Sandy will inspire painters to try something new and address possible roadblocks to advance their skills. While all levels of students are welcome, beginners should come ready to dive in with enthusiasm - this isn’t a basics course, but Sandy’s excited to share her own big artistic “AHA” moments to help others learn to overcome their challenges in watercolor.

While all levels of students are welcome, beginners should come ready to dive in with enthusiasm - this isn’t a basics course, but will be filled with tips and tricks for different levels of experience. Some photos will be provided, but students are encouraged to bring photos of their own to try out - bring both “easy” and complex images to tackle as you feel comfortable.

About the artist: Sandy Allnock is an artist and teacher based in the Seattle area. A graduate of Frostburg State University with an art degree, much of her life was dedicated to working as a graphic designer and illustrator. Sandy has taught in Copic marker, colored pencil, watercolor and more, and has specialized in inspiring crafters to see themselves as artists and branch out into making their own creations on blank paper. She has spent the last five years diving deep into watercolor, studying under many of the international instructors brought to Seattle by Daniel Smith. Sandy is a member of the American Watercolor Society, Northwest Watercolor Society, Plein Air Washington Artists, and Tacoma Urban Sketchers. See her work at http://sandyallnock.com.
