Stephanie Bower is a Seattle-based architectural illustrator and globe-trotting Urban Sketcher. A popular teacher with a background as an architect, she has taught at six Urban Sketchers symposiums and conducts workshops and demos around the world. She has a knack for explaining complicated subjects in simple, familiar terms — concepts that are featured in her two best-selling books in The Urban Sketching Handbook series, Understanding Perspective and 101 Sketching Tips.
This workshop, Perspective 101 is targeted to beginning plein air sketchers and offers a full day of instruction in a classroom setting. Using an interactive PowerPoint presentation, Stephanie will de-mystify the concepts and process of perspective sketching on location, with a focus on drawing buildings and spaces. Where do you start a sketch? How do you shrink the vast view into your tiny sketchbook? And where is that darn vanishing point? After this workshop, you will no longer fear or fake perspective sketching, you’ll see perspective everywhere!
