Reflections in Water with Watercolors with Kay Barnes

at 11 am & 1:30 pm

“Water Talk”… can’t paint what you can’t see. This demo will focus on seeing different aspects of water and it’s movement. We will explore how to make gestural brush strokes that will create convincing reflections in ever changing water surfaces. Water is fluid…we’ll see if we can capture some of its mystic motions.

These FREE demos are a great way to preview Kay’s Watercolor Workshop on October 20th:

Reflections in Water Watercolor Workshop with Kay Barnes
Saturday, October 20th, 2012
11 am to 4 pm
$85 for the 1-Day Workshop
This workshop will focus on the subject of reflections in water. The under painting process on very wet paper will create the sky reflecting in a quiet passage of a river. Special watercolor techniques such as sponging, splattering, misting to create soft edges and the illusion of moss and lichen growing on the trees near the river bank are just a few of the special effects we will strive to capture in this workshop.
We will also be working with the Hake brush and the rigger, two specialty brushes that can add a new dimension to your repertoire of brush strokes. Many skills will be explored and this workshop would be suitable for all levels.

Space is limited, please call the Seattle Store to register at: 206-223-9599
