Are you scared to try and draw faces? Do you want to make a portrait of someone you love or care for but you're not sure how to begin? Anyone can draw the face! This demo previews Julia's workshop which is designed to give you the knowledge and strategies to draw faces that look like the people you are drawing.
In this preview of the upcoming Intensive 1 day workshop, Julia will highlight the steps that guide you through drawing the human skull, individual facial features and their placement. She will show you the benefits of making a master copy drawing as the method of using and putting into your skill set her favorite strategies for seeing correctly and correcting mistakes! Julia will demonstrate and teach using charcoal as well as pencil on paper.
Julia Carpenter has drawn and painted the human head for 17 years. She holds a Masters Degree in Painting from Montana State University, Bozeman. She currently teaches at the Art Institute of Seattle and Kirkland Arts Center as well as Daniel Smith Artist Materials.
