Collagraph is a relatively new form of printmaking. It is by design a low toxicity process, fairly low-tech, and accessible to beginning and experienced artists.
-----Nikki's collagraph process is a plexiglass plate prepared for inking with modeling paste. During the FREE DEMO, Nikki will show how to reverse an image without using a copy machine. She will then use that reversed image to prep the plate. With an already dry plate, Nikki will then demonstrate a variety of materials to remove and add ink to create interesting textures for the final print.
Nikki Barber prints at Print Zero Studio. She graduated from the University of Washington with Interdisciplinary Visual Arts degrees and an emphasis in printmaking. She is an active Seattle artist and a member of Seattle Print Art.
