Lin will demonstrate painting satin. Fabric is important whether painting portraits, clothed figure, or still life to indicate social class, fashion, or mood throughout the history of painting. Think of Sargent’s full length portraits of society ladies dressed in elegant evening ware apposed to his Adirondack fishermen. You can identify the fabrics in each instance. No question the ladies are in silks and satin and the fishermen are in flannel and wool.
Lin will also be teaching a 10 class Workshop with a focus on fabric and fabric in still life
Lin will be teaching the series of 10 classes starting June 28th
