Here is our schedule for Artist Workshops for October 2012 at the Seattle DANIEL SMITH Store. These are usually 4 to 5 hour long "Hands On" workshops with the instructors demonstrating and teaching various art techniques. You will be creating during the workshop as you learn. These workshops have a fee, a list of supplies to bring to work with, and require registration. Space is limited, so please register early. This workshop will focus on the subject of reflections in water. The under painting process on very wet paper will create the sky reflecting in a quiet passage of a river. Special watercolor techniques such as sponging, splattering, misting to create soft edges and the illusion of moss and lichen growing on the trees near the river bank are just a few of the special effects we will strive to capture in this workshop. Many skills will be explored and this workshop would be suitable for all levels.

Barns are fun to paint! There is such an appealing variety of barn shapes, colors and settings, all of them recalling us to calm, rural, slow-paced times. Learn perspective, color and composition lessons while painting an iconic red barn with white trim, it's image in a reflecting pond, the beautiful yard and forest around it, plus the snowy mountains in the background. Paint one of the great photos Ann has taken of barns or bring in your own favorite. Good perspective and composition lessons. Come join the fun!
