“DESIGN DYNAMIC PAINTINGS” Workshop with Ed Labadie September 24th, 2011

“DESIGN DYNAMIC PAINTINGS” Workshop with Ed Labadie September 24th, 2011

We are excited to have Ed Labadie (Who’s DVDs we carry) here at our Seattle DANIEL SMITH Store to teach a Workshop “DESIGN DYNAMIC PAINTINGS” . This is an in person, “Hands On” Workshop based on Ed’s DVD by the same name: “DESIGN DYNAMIC PAINTINGS”.

Ed Labadie DVD
“Painting should be a fun and rewarding experience. Yet, many artists become frustrated and disenchanted as they toil with tiny brushes, hoping that more details will provide the visual impact and emotional connection with viewers that successful artists seem to create effortlessly.

The secret is in understanding the fundamentals of design and composition. All the details in the world won’t save a painting that is inherently poorly designed. Once educated and enlightened, artists find great joy ‘in the process’ of painting, locating problems quickly, then resolving them, for dramatic results.

Exciting and completely original works can be created, sometimes quite rapidly, once the basics lessons are understood: Fascinating shapes, an intriguing set of values, a strategic contrast, a cohesive color scheme, and editing distractions, just to name a few.”
- Ed Labadie

Ed will help simplify and compress these essentials, provide demos and personal attention, and share constructive critiques. His DVD ‘Design Dynamic Paintings’ is available from DANIEL SMITH, and at the workshop.
