MONOTYPE: The Painterly Print

Monotype is a spontaneous and painterly method of printmaking. Join April in learning to use basic techniques: additive, subtractive, and drawing transfer while working with 4x6-inch plates, water-based inks, and a small etching press (press provided by instructor). Spend the day exploring the materials and tools to produce a series of prints by adding depth, layering with pencil, pastel, metallic pigments, watercolor, and collage. Open to all levels of printmaking.

A three-session workshop designed for kids to discover their creative path with fun weekly projects. Students will learn a simple printing process then encouraged to pursue their own creativity in painting, sumi ink, and collage.
